It also has built in GPS, mapping and navigation to allow you to track where you are. In addition you can sent text messages or photos via the communicator to stay in touch or in the case of an emergency.

1) Charge the InReach Mini 3 Plus and turn it on by pressing the power button. You will also need to download the Garmin Messenger App to set up the InReach Mini 3.
2) Follow the in app instructions and on screen instructions on the Garmin InReach. You will also need to pick a service plan and sign up for a subscription.
3) It’s important when connecting the device and setting it up for the first time that you set the device up outside with a clear view of the sky so it can connect to satellites.
