Power Bank Recall for Travel Chargers by Anker #traveltips

✈️ Power Bank Recall in 2025
Since power banks are combustible, which means they can catch on fire easily, airlines have rules like the MOST important rule – that they are NOT allowed in checked luggage.
Anker, my most trusted brand as a frequent flyer, has recalled a few over the years. My travel tip: if you use a reliable brand, you will be notified of recalls. I use a power bank in the airplane usually at the end of a long flight.
These are the ones that were recalled last fall: 1263 (but they were sold between years 2016 and 2022). This June of 2025, they recalled these: 1642, 1647, and 1652. I have never owned any of these.
✍🏻 How to Find Your Model Number:
On the top line of the fine print you will see your power bank’s model number. Usually it is on the side or bottom of the portable charger.
