In this video we teach you how to install a motion sensor light switch. A motion sensor light switch is activated by a built in motion sensor that can automatically turn on and off a light switch when motion is detected. This model of light switch ( Lutron Maestro Motion Sensor Dimmer) is also compatible in 3 way switch configurations and and allows for dimming. You can also adjust the dimming levels of the light switch via the button on the right hand side of the motion sensor light switch.

The motion sensor light switch also allows you to adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor and the settings for how long the light switch will stay on before it turns off. The light switch will only turn off after motion has not been detected for a certain amount of time.

Motion sensor lights switches are also known as occupancy sensor light switches or light switches with a built in occupancy sensor.

To Install a motion sensor light switch do the following:

1. Turn off the power at the circuit breaker to the lights switch.
2. Remove the light switch cover plate.
3. Remove the light switch from the junction box by unscrewing the two screws holding it in place.
4. Take a Picture of the existing wiring.
5. Remove the existing wires.
6. Wire the new motion sensor light switch.
7. Install the motion sensor light switch with screws.
8. Install the light switch cover plate.
9.Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.
